In June 2024, Botafogo’s Nilton Santos Stadium underwent a full lighting transformation, completed in a record time of just 60 days.
The Nilton Santos Arena, which previously relied on as few as 45 floodlights, now boasts 276 Silicon Coliseo PRO 960W floodlights, fully compliant with Conmebol regulations. The upgrade not only delivers more efficient illumination but also significantly reduces energy consumption and maintenance requirements, thanks to a 13-year lifespan and Flicker Free technology, essential for sports broadcasting. The new system achieves the 1300 vertical lux mandated by Conmebol, modernizing the stadium and enabling it to host a wide variety of events.
Automation in Action: Spectacular Light Shows for Fans
Beyond enhancing brightness, the project prioritized the fan experience. Using five timecodes, Silicon synchronized the stadium lights with music, creating unforgettable spectacles that electrify the crowd. DMX technology and the GrandMA2 system enabled highly synchronized light shows, transforming any match or event into a true celebration. Today, Nilton Santos Stadium can host world-class artists and sophisticated light shows, generating additional revenue for the club.
