An Energy Revolution in Less Than 90 Days: Solar Power at Duque de Caxias Center
Is it possible to take a step towards a more sustainable and economical future in just ninety days? That was exactly the story of Duque de Caxias Center in 2023, when Silicon transformed the association's energy matrix and implemented a true solar revolution at its facilities.
Founded in 1890 by nine German immigrants who met at the Hauer Theater to create the Teuto Brasilianischer Turn Verein zu Curityba, the association, now known as Duque de Caxias Center, has built a rich history of more than a century. Over time, it expanded its activities to include social, sporting, and cultural initiatives, becoming a point of reference for members and the local community.
Even after so many decades, the center has never stopped evolving. In 2023, it took another major step forward by modernizing its energy system with Silicon, combining sustainability and economy in one project.
To choose the partner responsible for this challenge, the Duque administration launched a private tender that attracted more than ten specialized solar energy companies. In the end, Silicon’s expertise, technological solutions, and track record of reliable delivery were decisive in securing the project.
But there was a condition: everything had to be delivered in just 90 days.
The solution designed by our engineering team included the installation of 5 inverters, providing a power of 236.7 kW, and more than 630 modules, totaling 347.6 kWp. Although the deadline was tight, Duque de Caxias Center began reaping the benefits of sustainability and efficiency in just 82 days, well ahead of schedule.
